Fat Burning Intervals

gymboss, intervals, fat loss

During the week I barely have time to workout. If I miss my 5AM workout then my whole day could be thrown off. Its amazing how a simple workout session reduces anxiety and negativity, and boosts energy levels. I always feel ready to take on the world.

Since it's Saturday I have the entire morning to dedicate to training. This makes me a happy person.

Normally my intervals consist of weights, body weight and cardio, but this morning I switched it up. I plan on doing the above workout for 5 sets (35 sec reps and 15 sec rest). Usually I do 45/15 but because this set consisted of more intense cardio I shortened the time.

After the intervals I'm going to hit the gym for some weights and abs.

I LOVE SATURDAYS

Slimming & Satisfying

peppers, fiber, diet, immune, slim

It's hard to admit, but I am a HUGE food grazer. I am constantly picking at food throughout the day which makes it difficult to stay committed to a strict meal plan (definitely need to address that issue). Bell peppers are one of my favorite finger snacks because their crunchy texture and refreshing taste satisfies my sporadic eating habits. In addition to being rich in fiber, low in calories, and loaded with Vitamins A, C, & E, they are purse friendly :)

P.S. Eating peppers raw vs. cooked will maximize nutrition benefits.

Svelte & Satisfied

egg whites, fitness model, fitness, muscle, healthy

Protein is an important factor when it comes to fitness modeling, as it should also be for those pursuing weight loss programs. While restricting calorie intake and increasing workouts, one's muscle mass is compromised. This creates a problem because MUSCLE BURNS FAT. <---This is why it is also extremely important to include weight lifting in a weight loss program.

In order to preserve lean muscle tissue the correct amount of protein should be consumed. The NCSF states that the Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) for protein is .9g per kilogram of body weight. Since this number reflects those of a sedentary lifestyle, most active and fit bodies need more.

The protein sources that keep me svelte and satisfied are fish (love tilapia), egg whites, chicken, and lentil beans.

Designing Your Future

For the past few weeks, I have been following three simple guidelines that have kept me on track to achieving my dream career & desired lifestyle.

1. Pour Your Heart Out
Take a notepad and start by outlining your goals (long and short). Then, write down WHY you want to achieve your goals. Record every single reason that comes to mind - even if it is vain, silly, personal, ect. Really pour your heart out! These are ultimately the reasons that drive you to reach your goal(s). When I am able to step back and read my heart felt desires, I am able to realign my actions and make the right choices.

2. Journal Daily
Recording is key to success. Journaling what and when you eat, your workouts and how you feel DAILY will help you reach your goals. No matter what your goal, it will help you stay consistent and accountable.

3. Move Mountains
If you are able to visualize your dreams/goals you are capabile of making it happen. Yes, it may take hard work and time, but you can move mountains when you are determined and consistant.

OUR THOUGHTS & DREAMS CREATE OUR FUTURE- DON'T SELL YOURSELF SHORT!

Planting the Seeds of Success

Golden Opportunities

"You Can Heal Your Life" by Louise L. Hay is one of the many books I find myself continuously re-reading in hopes of seeking new affirmations to support my current circumstance. When I am feeling discouraged and/or stuck I recite the affirmation above. Other affirmations in the book support me when I experience self-hatred, resentment, or weakness.

Louise Hay couldn't be more correct in saying "every thought we think is creating our future." By affirming positivity and abundance in our lives (even if lacking at the moment), we are sowing the seeds to our own successes.

Harmonizing Through Food

Vegetables and the earth's energy

Recently I came across this quote and thought it was a great concept, but really didn’t believe it to be 100% true. Of course, if you were even to consider this statement you would have to believe that there is an energy or force that flows through all things which effects how we feel and perceive life.

If I hadn’t recently gone through a “detox phase” and challenged myself to eat all natural, unprocessed foods for a week I would still be in question; however, after detoxing my body of artificial sweeteners, bread, condiments, preservatives, ect…I find it very hard to disagree with Mr. Kushi.

If energy is constantly flowing through the earth and all that inhabits, then anything that grows direct from the ground is flowing with “unprocessed” energy. When we eat the pure source of food, we are not only absorbing untouched vitamins and nutrients, but we are feeding our energy. In turn, this creates a balancing effect and we become harmonized with the universe.

Overall, I can attest to feeling balanced, clear minded and in harmony with my surroundings.

Since there is so much to say on this topic, chime in and let me know your thoughts and experiences.
